FIR, Far InfraRed can reduce muscle soreness after a hard workout

Sports injuries & DOMS* : Far InfraRed, FIR reduced muscle soreness 24–72 hours after a hard workout and accelerated recovery of jump length/power.

Summary of the research article:

FIR therapy can speed up recovery after intense physical exertion

A study on elite soccer players showed that FIR therapy provided faster recovery in both strength and performance compared to a placebo group.

After 48 hours, the players who received FIR treatment had regained full jump height and fitness capacity (CMJ & YYIR1), while the placebo group still had clear impairments.

Conclusion : FIR therapy significantly improved recovery after the match.

* DOMS . Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness , or in Swedish: delayed onset muscle soreness . It is the type of muscle soreness and stiffness that occurs 12–48 hours after exercise, especially after unusually hard or eccentric loads, often peaks after 24–72 hours and is characterized by tenderness to the touch, decreased mobility and decreased muscle strength.
